Conference Board 2027: Onboarding

Welcome to the Productlab Conference Board 2027.

Why this form
As Productlab grows, we are also getting more formal. This is the Conference Board support form. We onboard every Board member the same way so that the role, the time we ask and what you get in return are written down clearly and agreed before we start, for you and for us. It takes about 8 minutes.

Who it is for
• First time on the Board: read everything. This is how the Board works, what we ask and what you get.
• Already on the Board: nothing about your commitment to date changes. We are putting what we always did into a simple written form, with the same steps for everyone.

How this form works
1. This page: the overview of the role and the benefits.
2. The agreement: the full Master Contributor Agreement, Annex A and Annex B, the exact terms you will agree to, and Annex C if you want the referral link. Read them now, or skip. You can come back with Back.
3. About you, your commitment and your benefits.
4. At the end you tick the boxes to agree to the Agreement, Annex A and Annex B, and sign, right here on this form.

Your PDF
After you submit, you receive a PDF copy by email with your answers and your signature. The email also has the words to use for your LinkedIn role once we announce the Board.
The Board exists to influence a bootstrapped conference that wants to position Berlin and Europe as the best place to build digital products, in fast-changing times.

The conference in 2027

Dates: 7 to 9 September 2027, probably at silent green in Berlin.
Beyond Berlin: satellite events across Europe, and we plan to expand the workshops to Milan, Amsterdam and Warsaw.
Your page: we will also update the Productlab team page to include the Board.

What we ask of you

1. Direction, every quarter. A 1:1 with Daniele each quarter on topic direction and the pulse of the industry, in person or by video. This format has worked well, so we keep it. On top, we set aside time to meet face to face during the conference.
2. Summer support, July and August. Support 1 to 3 speakers on their presentations, async plus 1 to 2 sync calls of 30 minutes each, depending on the case. If you can only commit to 1 speaker, that is fine.
3. Ambassador. Where you can, open a door to a speaker or a company in your network.
4. Quality. Help keep the content quality high. The 2027 topic is locked after Christmas and Q1, once the trend is clear.
5. Optional: speak, teach, moderate, introduce people, join a subgroup on monetization or act as a tie breaker on themes, depending on the agenda. Each is agreed separately.

How we work together: the group chat did not really work, and the time to curate the conference is scarce. So we keep it mostly async and in 1:1s. The Board comes with strong opinions on topics, then Daniele decides the final organization of themes. We are considering assigning 1 or 2 Board members as tie breakers, to help decide what goes in and out.

Monetization: if some of you want to work with Daniele in a subgroup on monetization and on how to boost revenue and participation, we are open to that.

Time: roughly 10 to 15 hours per year, mostly async. You are free to accept or decline any activity.

What you get

• Title: Conference Board Member, with a LinkedIn badge.
• Visibility: your name and role as part of the conference, plus access to operators, speakers and the other Board members.
• Tickets: a free ticket for the conference day. The workshop day and Leaders Day at cost, with no margin for Productlab. Your team also gets 10% off, details later.
• Welcome gift, optional: as one of the first Board members, an amazing Productlab bag, depending on available stock.
• Referral link, optional: if your link boosts ticket sales, 10% of those sales goes back to you as cashback, or is donated to a cause you choose. Any discount for the people you bring depends on the marketing campaign. This is agreed separately in Annex C, not as part of the Board role. The Luma app tracks the sales through the ID assigned to you, and we simply count them there.
• Travel if you live outside Berlin: up to 2 nights of accommodation, up to EUR 150 per night, and an economy return trip from your place of residence, up to EUR 600. Plus up to 20% depending on your region, approved by Productlab in writing before you book. All against original receipts. Not covered: trips combined with other travel, such as flying home.
• Strategic mission: strategic guidance, speaker recruitment and mentoring, and content quality, to build the best product conference in Europe and a new generation of leaders with societal and economic impact.

How it is set up

The Board role is voluntary and unpaid. There is no fee for the role. The optional referral link is a separate sales referral. Expenses are reimbursed against receipts only, and tickets and the LinkedIn badge are benefits, not payment. You agree to and sign Productlab's Master Contributor Agreement (Unpaid), Annex A, your role, and Annex B, your benefits, on this form. You advise us and act as an ambassador, you do not represent or bind Productlab. Board discussions are confidential.
