Board Member

Hi there! I’d love to define what being a board member entails and share my vision.

If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve been working in product for a while, have a strong social presence (LinkedIn, community involvement, podcasting, or writing), and align with what we’re building.

As a board member, your primary role will involve annual support for curating and promoting the ProductLab Conf> while gaining exposure and positioning yourself in the market as a thoughtful leader and opening new possibilities. PS: Responsibilities can feel overwhelming, but remember, you're not alone—we're here to support you, along with other board members.

Responsibilities

1. Content Curation

We have the following session with the speakers and facilitators
-Speaker and Facilitator Selection (January – February)
Collaborate with the team to identify and shortlist potential speakers and facilitators.
-Get-to-Know Sessions (March 1 – April 15)
Participate in 30-minute calls with shortlisted candidates to ask questions, validate talk proposals, and align expectations.
-Confirmations and Planning (April 16 – May 1)
Finalize agreements with selected speakers and assist in planning their trip to Berlin.
-Speaker Support and Content Quality (Q3)
Ensure selected speakers are prepared to deliver high-quality content by participating in the following timeline:
August 1–20: Feedback Call #1 — Review topic and presentation drafts with the team.
Late August: Feedback Call #2 — Evaluate the final session and provide additional feedback.
Until September 7: Delivery — Oversee the submission of final slides and materials.
September 11: Dry Runs — Join a 15-minute rehearsal session to answer last-minute questions and finalize the stage setup.

2. Promotions and Ticket Sales:

- Promote the conference twice a month through your channels (e.g., social media, Substack, podcasts), including sharing a discount code.
- Connect with companies interested in purchasing ticket bundles (from 5 tickets).

3. Networking & Conference Experience

- Once a month meeting where we shape the conference experience by providing input on session formats, interactive elements, and attendee engagement strategies.
